Department of Information and Intelligence Development

The Department of Information and Intelligence Development (referred to as "DIID") was established in 2020 and is directly managed by the hospital leadership. The department consists of Center for Planning and Management, Center for Big Data and Artificial Intelligence, and Center for Information Technology. These centers respectively take on the roles of guiding planning, innovative exploration, and foundational support, collectively driving the digitalization and intellectualization of the hospital.

In terms of discipline development, the department focuses on "Digital and Intelligent Medical Engineering" as its discipline development direction, leveraging the integration and application of emerging technologies such as cloud computing, big data, IoT, mobile computing, intelligent systems, and blockchain ("Cloud-Big Data-IoT-Mobile-Intelligent Systems-Blockchain" or "CBIMISB"). It promotes the implementation of the hospital's three-pronged strategy: humanized services, functional resources, and intelligent operations. The department has successively introduced high-level talents from renowned institutions such as Tsinghua University, National University of Defense Technology, Nanjing University, University College London, Northwestern University, Georgia Institute of Technology, University of Southern California, as well as leading companies like Alibaba, Huawei, and SAIC Motor. This has formed a joint training system for postgraduate students and a talent training echelon for interdisciplinary fields, showcasing strong team vitality and innovative capabilities.

DIID is responsible for the overall planning of the hospital's digital transformation, tackling the construction of major digital medical projects, and cooperating and implementing digital engineering across various sectors such as medical services, education, research, and management. Additionally, it oversees the qualification review and supervision of digital cooperation partners and assists with internal and external project tenders. Since the 1990s, the department has developed an integrated intelligent information platform centered on self-developed HIS and EMR systems, integrating nearly 300 modules, including PACS, RIS, LIS, SAP, infection control, anesthesia, and blood transfusion. Driven by the demand for "microservice architecture and integrated DevOps," it has built a new generation of information infrastructure based on hybrid cloud and 5G converged private networks. The department has progressively upgraded and built three major platforms for data, business, and knowledge, forming a virtuous cycle of data and algorithms, comprehensively supporting the high-quality development of the hospital.
