Introduction to the Hospital Management and Development Research Center (HMDRC)
I. Objectives
The Hospital Management and Development Research Center aims to establish a leading academic institution in China for hospital management and development, aspiring to build an influential platform for scholarly exchange and consultancy. It positions itself as a strategic "think tank" and a "talent hub" for hospital high-quality development and the establishment of national medical centers.
II. Organizational Structure
The center features an office, a dedicated research team, and project groups. The office handles management and coordination affairs, with the research team of full-time and part-time researchers and academic advisors, as well as project groups of general coordinators, supervisors, and researchers to ensure project execution.

1. Hospital Operational Management Research
The center compiles and promotes effective hospital management practices, including culture development, medical talent cultivation, and improvement in patient experience. Its publications include “Learning Culture from Benchmark Hospitals” and “Theory and Practice of Management for Middle-Level Cadre in Public Hospitals in the New Era”. The center also conducts extensive research and takes on multiple projects related to hospital management.
2. Health Policy Research
The center contributes to health policy research with insights from top-tier hospitals and advocates policies through forums. It also encourages and supports related research with the Hospital Management Science Fund.
3. Talent Development
The center fosters academic and practical professionals in healthcare management by hosting the "Zhongshan Management Lecture Hall" academic salon, gathering expertise and knowledge with sectoral hot topics and management challenges, and providing regular training and scholarly exchanges.
